Irina Markina

Irina Markina is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Bergen. Her research focuses on sub-Riemannian geometry, geometric analysis, and control theory on manifolds. She has made significant contributions to understanding geometric structures where motion is constrained to certain directions.

Sub-Riemannian geometry has applications ranging from robotics and control systems to mathematical physics and neuroscience.
